While living each day in this world, we have the privilege of telling others about a kingdom that is not of this world. So many people are in desperate need of the comfort and strength we know so well. Each of us has the opportunity to live our faith openly, as we share the spiritual wealth with those whose lives are missing out on the light of salvation.
In Touch
Community Newsletter
The In Touch community newsletter shares a seasonal gospel message and invitation with our neighbors three times a year. The beginning of the school year, Christmas and Easter provide excellent opportunities for our neighbors to visit Mount Olive and learn about our message and ministry.
For several years we have reached out to our Latino neighbors with an offer to help them with their English language skills.
Octoberfest
Octoberfest in Appleton provides the residents of our area with a fun-filled festival before the cold winter winds begin to blow. Member volunteers from Mount Olive have the opportunity to greet hundreds of festival goers with a cheerful smile. Our presence at this event is a bold statement that we see our congregation as an active member of the Appleton community.
LWMS
Lutheran Women's Missionary Society
Our purpose is to help support the missionaries and their families with our gifts and prayers.
All women of Mount Olive are members of LWMS along with the women of over 900 additional member congregations.
Our world is much larger than the Fox Valley, and the need for the Gospel extends far beyond our own congregation. Mission Partners provides a connection to that larger world. For 2010 and 2011 our Mission Partner is Multi-Language Publications.
Mount Olive Church, in connection with WELS English as a Second Language (ESL) Latino Outreach, will be collecting winter items for Latino friends in our area.
